From SanderS: A Wizard and Barbarian venture into the Vaccination Challenge (10 points)
Hoi,
Says the Barbarian: "These are not the figures what I wanted to enter the Vac Challenge with!" With the AHPC done I actually had thought to settle down in an easier and less high paced painting regime, but I still need to finish the Stalingrad commission and well you know; a huge pile of unpainted lead is still awaiting me.
There's also still a ton of Heroquest figures in that pile and so I started off with these two heroes from the basic boxed set. I have several boxed sets and these are painted for the school club.
Well at least I have a post in and I am now going to try and write a wrap up post for the Challenge proper.
Cheers Sander

From MartinN: Full throttle into the Vaccination Challenge [26 points]
Whereas in 28mm you'd be hard pressed to find a crew of six for your AT gun, let alone one that could be arranged in almost mini-diorama style, all figures below except the gunner are AB Miniatures. Best of all they sell the crew without guns so you can take full advantage of all the model kits out there. I went for a rather cheap but cheerful gun by Zvezda, the gunner came with the kit. The gun is not overly complex and went together easily. But I still managed to loose a small but important part I had then to scratch build.
I didn't paint on any Red Cross markings as I believe to remember to have read that these were, due to the nature of the conflict, rarely observed on the Eastern Front, thus likely to have been omitted by the troops anyway.
I re-positioned the head and left hand of the female medic as to better interact with the casualty, but other than that it's the stock kit. In retrospect my Soviets might probably be a little too uniformly dressed with no variation in their clothing at all. That said it sped up painting no end and actually looks quite nice when arrayed together.
I've decided to carry on counting my points throughout this year till the beginning of the next Challenge. Both to motivate me and keep track of my progress. Thus with a Challenge total of 477 points plus the 26 points of this submission I'm currently at a 503 points. 3 points above my target for the Challenge.

The Opening Entry for the Analogue Hobbies Vaccination Challenge.
Welcome to the Analogue Hobbies Vaccination Challenge!
I thought I'd kick off the AHVC with a figure that would help salve the thoughts of those folks who are feeling uneasy about the upcoming jab.
This figure is from Uncle Mike, the publisher of Strange Aeons. I describe this model as Sarah describes me: A little rough around the edges, perhaps a little sketchy, but with lots of character.
We've been told that my age bracket (It's *cough* 24 *cough*, if you must ask.) is scheduled for vaccinations in late April/early May, so for my personal goal, I'm hoping to get 120 points done before I bow out.
This fellow will give me 5 points towards that target.

The Vaccination Challenge (VC) is open to all who have not had their Covid-19 vaccination. If you're interested in participating just drop me an email at curtcampbell aht mac doht com.
I will serve as moderator until the last participant is vaccinated, or interest wanes.
The only rule is that once a participant has received their vaccination they will be allowed one last farewell post before they withdraw from the Challenge.
Participants can post as much as they like, set up duels, conduct side challenges, etc. Feel free to use the point structure from the AHPC as a basis if you wish (which I'm using for my points tracking).
Stay safe, play nice and have fun.

From Curt: The Close of the Quarantine Challenge - 2mm Terrain and Units for Waterloo
Hi All!
As June 18th marked the anniversary of Waterloo I thought it would be fun to revisit this project and add a few more units and terrain specific to that campaign.
After snooping around, I picked up a batch of building sets from Brigade Models which depict several locations that are iconic to that battlefield. So what we have here is the chateau of Hougoumont, the walled farm of La Haie Sainte, the church at Plancenoit and the inn of La Belle Alliance. Everything except La Belle Alliance has been based on 4" MDF squares as I wanted each base to act as a 'sector' for gaming purposes.
For Hougoumont and La Haie Sainte I wanted to include their formal gardens and orchards as they played an important role in the battle. For the garden walls I used thin plastic sheeting and for the hedges I glued down trimmed figure packing foam (the stuff you find in blister packaging) which I thinly coated with Liquitex before painting.

For La Haie Sainte's formal orchard, and for the odd individual tree here and there, I decided to create my own from bits found around the hobby desk. After a bit of experimenting, I used the same packing foam I used for the hedges and trimmed them into roundish shapes using small topiary scissors.
I then pierced the foam with 1/2" brad nails dipped in hot glue to serve as the tree trunks. Once they were set up I coated the foam in Liquitex and then painted them up using craft paints.
There you go, fast and easy microscale trees.
The markers are simply three irregular shaped layers of MDF glued together to give the impression of gun smoke. I find that they're easier (and less messy) to use than pillow ticking.
There you have it! Thanks for sticking it out to the end. These were a lot of fun to work on and I'm looking forward to using these when we can all get back together to game in-person.
To close, I want to thank all our participants for treating us with lots of wonderful models to keep us enthused while we were being isolated and keeping safe. I hope I see you all in a few months when we get ready for Challenge XI.
Remember, be excellent to each other.
Curt
From NoelW: This week I painted a complete army!
As is usual for me, my final offering for the Challenge is quite large, but also a hotch-potch of bits and pieces. Lest you think I've had a sleepless week, I should point out that several of these pieces have been ongoing throughout the challenge, only completed in the last few days.
