The color scheme is a bit unusual I guess, but that is because I chose to paint it with the colors of Anvilgard. Yes, Anvilgard can't field these things, but technically ruleswise this is an ally. Much better story is that, that somehow the beast hunters of Anvilgard have managed to catch this beast (which happens to the same color as their city colors) and now use it in war.
Painted in Contrast paints, expect the base and metal parts. Works very well on this kind of textured surfaces.
The base is bit messy, the trim needs to be painted again to make it look better.
There were lots of details, which I didn't pick up, but I believe this is good enough now. I picked some details, some of the gems etc, so it is not too plain.

From Minion TeemuL:
Those Contrast colors really do wonders, when properly used. A very nice sub-marine creature on a lava field!
Wow colourful, space turtle thingy Teemu! Quite the beast.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter, that thingy sure is a nice beast.
DeleteWow! That's one heck of a paint job Teemu!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, would have been a pain without the Contrasts.
DeleteThat looks like it was one hell of a project Teemu, and a great result. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteShe was a biggie, but fortunately I didn't glue everything before I started painting.
DeleteFantastic looking flying turtle!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain, it really is fantasy related. :)
DeleteWow, that is one awesome model, really like this 👍
ReplyDeleteYes, a pretty one, and when I saw it on discount, I just had to buy it. :)
DeleteThat is a fabulous job, Teemu. A real centerpiece creation, well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Curt! It really is an eye catcher.
DeleteMarvelous model and a great paintjob! That will definitely be an eyecatcher on any table!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteThe contrast paints seem to have been the perfect choice, the texture of the turtle and howdah really stand out.
ReplyDeleteThat's true Stuart, with traditional methods, it would have taken ages or end up being flat looking.
DeleteThose are some really vibrant colours Teemu. Arthur says they remind him of Avatars (the Last Airbender, not the blue tree huggers ;-) "Fire Nation"!
ReplyDeleteBlack, red and yellow is quite a strong combination, no wonder it is used in many traffic signs. And many other places as well. :)
DeleteWow, Teemu, that’s awesome!
