From DaveD - Landing Craft Tank

Just scraping under the wire for tomorrow’s D Day game is a Landing Craft Tank . This is a Lindbergh kit . It’s 1/125 rather that 1/100 15mm , but I think it does the job well enough.

I didn’t like the decals that came with this kit , so it still needs those adding - I am waiting fir a white laser jet toner cartridge that’s on order so I can set about doing my own printed ones .

The table is set for tomorrow's virtual game with Martin and James 

From DaveD - Hit the Beach ... LCMs & tanks - 72 points

It’s been another few busy weeks in the job , but with a bank holiday weekend I took the opportunity to finish off the next bits for the collection. I had intended to run another big D Day game in early June. I will still run it with virtual gamers , but it will only cover the beach assault this time , but another 6 landing craft added to fleet is a great addition - takes me to 15.

I also added in more Sherman’s with deep wading kits too. This lot will be the transport for the engineer and beach clearance teams .

Finally managed to grab some hobby time this week. Again working on my 15mm Germans . Of course any WW2 German Army is incomplete without the ubiquitous 88s so here are a couple .

For my 1944 project it’s time for the classic German armour to make an appearance. So it’s big cats time . A mix of Battlefront and Plastic Soldier 15mm. 11 of them altogether.

I have completed another couple of cars for an inaugural Gaslands game- sometime post lockdowns I guess.

Plus I have made up another 12 feet worth of hedging to add to the terrain box — you always need more seems to be driver here. That takes me to 60 feet so far .

So that takes me to 250 pts.

I am back at the coal face of work tomorrow so not sure what else I might get done over the next few weeks .

I have finished up the last two platoon (for now) of my US army Utah Beach assault force (4th Div , 8th Regt).

I picked up a copy of Gaslands just before Xmas, and have got around to the first vehicle for it . A classic Toyota Hilux with supercharger and big guns . It’s roughly 20mm scale

From DaveD - extending the comms tower - 80 points

Well , let the painting  continue I say . It’s going to be much needed to see us through I think. My last entry for the AHPC was a model for a Communications tower . I deal with these things through the day job so I wanted to do something extra with it. On going through the MDF mountain of shame I came across something that would allow me to increase its height. It would also be a separate piece of terrain if needed too .

It’s 13 inches tall by 10 inches wide , so following the traditional terrain scoring it’s about 4 terrain cubes of volume .

Now handily the previous piece fits right on top

 The last few weeks have been utterly manic while I work with my colleagues to do the hard work and preparation that will keep the communications networks and the internet working in the Uk . I work in H&S I am everyone’s friend right now...makes a change!

To bring a bit of cheer to the situation I have broke out Serenity my cow town to have some virtual gaming with friends ..looking forward to getting it up and running this week .
