From SanderS: Arriving at Bromley's Butte (127 points)

Hoi,

Finally I have arrived at the end of the Star Wars Legion commission, only to have two more commissions awaiting my attention. I am going to use these figures to enter the Butte of Bromley (still sounds a bit...icky) since a recon-theme is wanted as I have a very nice unit of Rebel Commando's to offer. While Rogue One has introduced the Rebel Pathfinders to the collection of figures, I have painted them earlier, nothing says covert recon troops Star Wars style to me as much as the Rebel Commando's infiltrating Endor with Han, Leia, whiny boy and the gang.

Here are the Commando's, yet again done up in desert style camouflage.

But there's more here to show. I also was asked to paint up the Hoth Rebel laser into something resembling a desert setting so here's my effort of doing just that.

And just to get it all well and truly done, there's two of the SWL mission objective sets as well: the downed At-St (what a beast to paint and put together)

and the droids the whole galaxy is NOT looking for!

While I have really enjoyed painting all these Star Wars figures and it has been a true learning experience, I am glad I can now start painting something else al together. Bah the Rebel Scum!
11 miniatures in 40mm scale is 77 points and let's say another 50 for the rest of the vehicles and scenery is about right. That will amount to 127 points for the total.

From TomM: Jyn Erso

"My father's revenge. He built a flaw in the Death Star. He put a fuse in middle of your machine and I've just told the entire galaxy how to light it."
―Jyn Erso and Director Orson Krennic

If you, like me, loved Rogue One, then this is the Commander for you.  Available to the Rebel forces, Jyn is a great operative for leading your forces, having some nice tricks up her sleeve.

The model, which like all FFG Legion figures borders towards 35mm in scale, has a super dynamic pose as she swings her Tonfa to smack her enemies across the face.

Coming in the light grey plastic typical of the range, the material and the details lend to a great painting experience without being to fiddly to assemble.
Just take care to attach the head first, and then the flaps of her scarf for the best fitting!

I went for the drakish green vest on her like she wears often in the movies, with a drabcoloured scarf for contrast on her otherwise dark grey clothing, to prevent her from becoming to bland at all.

And now, swinging her tonfa and with her trusty blaster, she is ready to lead my forces in the TSA Star Wars Legion campaign!

From TomM: Star Wars Legion Turbo Laser

So I finally finished this piece of scenery for Star Wars Legion, and truth be told this was actually the first "larger" thing I printed on my Ender 3.

The only thing I was in doubt for was to go for a more white colour like in the original trilogy, especially in the pre-touched up edition, or for the lighter grey like in recenter images.

In the end, I opted for the second scheme.

The model consists of various "levels" glued on top of each other, and the barrels again a seperate piece, and takes about 4 evenings of printing to complete.

Nice and tall to stand on the table now, the next project for SWL will be a power generator, before continuing printing work on the Tattooine set I have.

From SanderS: "I find your lack of posts disturbing..." 185 points

Dear Fellow Challengers,

It has happened: I have missed a week's posting and as such am about to be kicked off the Challenge indeed. But before any Minions get a whiff of that I will try and put up some more figures.

As I am being penitent anyway: I should apologize to you all as well for not replying to your excellent posts, real life has thrown all kinds of spanners in the works. Especially at the school where I work since we now need to think of how we are going to grade our pupils at the end of our school-year which is in 5 weeks time from now.

More Star Wars stuff today, as you have come to expect I am sure. This is a piece of scenery I have made on my 3D printer and it is supposed to be a crashed Gozanthi Cruiser (whatever that may be). The original print file (STL)  is in Legion scale and wouldn't fit my printplate so I had to reduce the size to 40% for it to fit.

The figures included are one of my old 25mm West Wind figures (Luke) and a Rebel officer form Star Wars Legions for size.

Next up a load of Rebel Scum. The SW Legions base set contains two squads of Rebel Troopers and I painted these in two different-ish outfits recognisable by the colour of the turbans.

Some specialists in the form of (Scariff)  Pathfinders

There's a reinforcement or extension pack for the Rebel Troopers containing 4 Aliens to add to your basic squads.

And finally the Comms specialist from the specialist box that further comprises the Officer and two droids I have shown earlier.

This brings me up to 25 figures and 1 scenery piece which in total I would score at 185 points. Still on my paint desk for this commission are the Rebel Commandos (Endor troops), a Rebel laser dish (basically Hoth laser but will be painted Tatooine style) and two downed objectives (AT-ST and Shuttle with R2 and Threepio). So off to the painttable with me!
