Finally I have arrived at the end of the Star Wars Legion commission, only to have two more commissions awaiting my attention. I am going to use these figures to enter the Butte of Bromley (still sounds a bit...icky) since a recon-theme is wanted as I have a very nice unit of Rebel Commando's to offer. While Rogue One has introduced the Rebel Pathfinders to the collection of figures, I have painted them earlier, nothing says covert recon troops Star Wars style to me as much as the Rebel Commando's infiltrating Endor with Han, Leia, whiny boy and the gang.
Here are the Commando's, yet again done up in desert style camouflage.
But there's more here to show. I also was asked to paint up the Hoth Rebel laser into something resembling a desert setting so here's my effort of doing just that.
And just to get it all well and truly done, there's two of the SWL mission objective sets as well: the downed At-St (what a beast to paint and put together)
and the droids the whole galaxy is NOT looking for!
While I have really enjoyed painting all these Star Wars figures and it has been a true learning experience, I am glad I can now start painting something else al together. Bah the Rebel Scum!
11 miniatures in 40mm scale is 77 points and let's say another 50 for the rest of the vehicles and scenery is about right. That will amount to 127 points for the total.
Nicely done, Sander. Some very convincing and detailed work here. I like the droids best, but really admire how you've also worked the different textures (metal vs canvas).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words Noel, even though I have no idea what canvas you are talking about... ;-p
DeleteI guess he means the cloth on the commandos
DeleteGreat stuff all. I like the commandos with their effective yet elegant colour scheme! However, the laser turned out very nice too and so did the crashed At-St with all the rust and weathering, and then the droids... You're spoiling us. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martijn, they were all good fun to paint
DeleteGreat looking bunch of rebels and the adapting of snow to sand works surprisingly well!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cool paint jobs!
ReplyDeleteWonderful work Sander. The figures are excellent (esp. 3PO), but the gun emplacement and those terrain pieces are superb.
ReplyDeleteYes great post - especially as the full series, figures plus terrain items and extras all to the same superb standard.
ReplyDeleteMore amazing work, well done. If Disney ever has an opening for artistic director in their Star Wars franchise, you should consider applying as you are obviously well qualified.
ReplyDeleteNice work Sander. Im with Curt, as nice as the figures are it’s the terrain bits that steal the show,
ReplyDeleteGreat work
ReplyDeleteThose are all so cool!
