From TomM: Star Wars Legion Turbo Laser

So I finally finished this piece of scenery for Star Wars Legion, and truth be told this was actually the first "larger" thing I printed on my Ender 3.

The only thing I was in doubt for was to go for a more white colour like in the original trilogy, especially in the pre-touched up edition, or for the lighter grey like in recenter images.

In the end, I opted for the second scheme.

The model consists of various "levels" glued on top of each other, and the barrels again a seperate piece, and takes about 4 evenings of printing to complete.

Nice and tall to stand on the table now, the next project for SWL will be a power generator, before continuing printing work on the Tattooine set I have.

From MikeV : Portuguese 4th Line infantry regiment and other assorted stuff

This week was not a very productive one.  Having maintenance works done in one's home is a very tough distraction to beat so the painting desk lay pretty quiet. I only managed to put out the 4th Portuguese line Fieira regiment, a total of just thirty two figures.  As usual, they are in 6mm and from Baccus. The regiment carries a regimental colour and a red regional colour to indicate it is from the south of Portugal. The northern regiments carried yellow colours and the central ones carried white. More of these in future hopefully.  The flags are home printed from the excellent warflag.com website. In Age of Eagles the Portuguese are classed as two-rank impulse infantry (being British-trained), hence the mounting of the unit in two ranks as opposed to the Spanish and most other armies of the period which are in three.

In the meantime, however, I managed to keep the post office busy. Over the last couple of weeks I got a handful of splendid books on heraldry and medieval times from Book Depository and ebay.  I also got roads and rivers plus an Italian farmhouse from Timecast Miniatures.  Most of this terrain should make it to my painting desk soon so that I can complete my Albuera battlefield.  Again, more of this in future.

Keep healthy everyone and keep up the great work!

ChristopherS. AWI British casualty markers

Still here just falling way behind on photographing the things I've completed....well actually falling behind on anything blog related in general.

These markers for the British will cover me for a little while, but I still need to do some more, but until then I have some Hessian ones to do first.

The figures are from the Perry AWI range and the bases are from warbases if I remember correctly. The paints I used are mostly Foundry with some Vallejo.

This was just a quick post to say hi and I hope everyone is holding up well.

Thanks for viewing!

From DrQ: Crab People and a Mountain Climber

A small offering for this week.

First up I painted this trio of aquatic denizens.

The mechanic-lady in the middle is of unknown providence. A friend gave me the mini back before the end of the world, and she had been sitting on my shelf for some time. Her two bodyguards are Shell Crackers of House Hadross, from CMON's Wrath of Kings game. I picked up a few miscellaneous miniatures from this line at the start of the pandemic on a sale from Miniature Market. The game itself looks uninspiring mechanically, but for something like $4US I figured these crabby bois could find a home in a D&D game when everything reopens. The bases for all of them are DIY cobblestone made from polymer clay.

However, most of my week was taken up painting this little darling:

This is Ice Climber Candy—a limited release, master-class miniature for Ninja Division's Super Dungeon Explorer game. She's painted pretty much to her concept art here (i.e. it wasn't my idea to have her with a pink parka and pink hair!). I can't see her getting much table time as either a D&D miniature or in the aforementioned game, but she was fun to paint. I really had a chance to work on my blackening skills on her gear and the fur.

Next week I'm hoping to build and paint some more sci-fi terrain, but we'll have to see where the muses take me.

Stay safe.

From SimonG: HYW Nobles plus the full Army!

My last posting for the French HYW army -- a final stand of mounted noble men at arms -- in this case Raoul de Gaucourt, Captain of Orleans. There is also a final banner bearer with the standard of Orleans flown at the battle of Patay -- he can be added to a command stand with the Bd of Orleans that I completed earlier.

The figures are all Perry (a mix of plastic and metal). de Gaucort himself is actually repurposed from the Comte de Brabant from the Agincourt French mounted set.

And here's what it all looks like at once -- five months painting, 37 stands and 202 figures in total -- now on to Les Anglais!
