From SimonG: HYW Nobles plus the full Army!

My last posting for the French HYW army -- a final stand of mounted noble men at arms -- in this case Raoul de Gaucourt, Captain of Orleans. There is also a final banner bearer with the standard of Orleans flown at the battle of Patay -- he can be added to a command stand with the Bd of Orleans that I completed earlier.

The figures are all Perry (a mix of plastic and metal). de Gaucort himself is actually repurposed from the Comte de Brabant from the Agincourt French mounted set.

And here's what it all looks like at once -- five months painting, 37 stands and 202 figures in total -- now on to Les Anglais!

  4. Peter, Mike, Curt, Iain and Ken - thanks for all of the kind feedback. I will say it seems like a lot when you have it all out on the table at once!

  5. Wow! that's an impressive array. I do love the Perrys' HYW figs, and you've done them excellent justice.

  7. Thanks for your comments Noel, Sander and Christopher. Spent all of yesterday stringing Longbows and making arrows, I assume I’ll get better at this with practice! Annoyingly the pins I’d purchased for arrow shafts while long enough for crossbows are too short for longbows so it’s off to the haberdashery for me again 😃

    1. Thanks Stuart, although one of the downsides of macro photography is that it shows you details in the miniatures that’s the naked eye can easily miss so in the banner bearer case for example the padding inside the helmet that I should have picked out in another colour! Oh well, I’ll fix that in future figures 😀
