From MikeV: 1808 Portuguese in 6mm

Two more Portuguese regiments this week to bring up the total to three. These are the 10th Lisbon Line Regiment with white cuffs and the 14th Tavira Regiment with sky blue cuffs. The 10th carry the red Southern Region standard while the 14th bear the white Central Region one. My Portuguese force now totals twelve stands and 96 figures, giving a tabletop equivalent of 4,320 men. Another twelve stands to go before I reach my 24 stand target. As always, figures are from Baccus 6mm. This week I hope to add some Cacadores in their distinctive brown uniforms.  Until then, keep healthy.

  1. These are terrific Mike and what a great project. I're really enjoying seeing the Portuguese getting such wonderful attention. With three battalions you just need one more for an independent Portuguese brigade. If memory serves, I believe there was one of those sketchy Campbells in command of one of these formations. Y'know, just sayin' if you're planning to do a command stand. ;)

    1. Thanks Curt! Tbh, I'm really enjoying painting the Portuguese. For some reason they aren't so popular and you don't often see them on tables even though they are excellent troops. Now regarding the Campbells, hmmmm, what can I say.....?

  2. Great work on these Portuguese. I wouldn’t trust a Campbell in command of anything....

    1. Thanks Peter, glad you like them. The notorious Campbell name is becoming a bit of a fixation it seems! :)

    1. Thanks Ken. I agree there’s more to the Peninsula than just French and British.

  5. They look very good, showing the effect of 6mm figures in mass. Nice!

    1. Thanks Martijn. Yes, 6mm is ideal for that mass effect which is the main reasons I love the scale.
